Post text, upload pics, crib, shout, complain, write in, post pics, remove ur frustation......... aah aren't we so accommodating? if u dont know how to use the blog (probably because u havent used it for so long), then just call and ask. the call will be more than appreciated.

Kunal - Sorry I didn't get to your post about Kumarakom and the houseboats. If you've already gone, I'm sorry I didn't get to you in time. If not, there are a few things I'd suggest. There are plenty of houseboats - with new ones being added every day. If you have a day or two to spend in Kumarakom or Alleppey, then scope out a houseboat when you get there - you can bargain and get a better deal and you'll know exactly what you're getting. If you don't have that luxury and want to book before you get there, then choose a reputable operator. There are a couple I can recommend. One is Southern Backwaters and the other is Rainbow. Desire Tours also has houseboats and they're supposed to be pretty decent too. For 24 hours, expect to pay at least Rs. 3000 for a non-AC boat with one double room. The much nicer ones will be in the range of 5500+ rupees. I hope you have (had) a good time!
